A Las Vegas Elopement

Every documentary begins with an invitation. This one became an exercise in staying. Across three returns in a single day, I watched a ceremony become a marriage, anticipation giving way to ease, spectacle giving way to ordinary life. What interested me most was not the moment Courtney and Derrell became husband and wife, but the hours in which they began inhabiting what had already become true. To be entrusted with another person's story requires care, attention, and the willingness to remain long enough for something quieter to reveal itself.
